my Christmas table setting

This year, Christmas is going to be a busy one! We're having a lot of Alex's family over for dinner, but since they come over for dinner quite often, I wanted to make the table extra special to mark the occasion.

I have a real love for simplistic Scandinavian meets traditional decor at Christmas.  I wanted to keep the kitchen and our table pretty simple to avoid any unnecessary clutter while dinner is being served. So, to keep it simple I topped a white table cloth with a simple hessian table runner. For an extra festive touch  I created my own bottle brush forest. I'm at my happiest when I'm walking through a forest, and having these tiny trees to remind me of those special moments wondering gives such a feeling of warmth. It's so simple and easy to create yet such an effective way to add a touch of festive cheer.

I'll also be using these beautiful wreath place cards that I purchased from Ginger Ray, I love their beautiful decorations for any occasion. It's nice to have a little something that is off the beaten track and each of their collections are so whimsical and unique, I highly recommend taking a look if you're after something different. I'll be writing each name on the cards closer to the day, but I adore them and just had to share!

We have a lot of copper touches in our kitchen. Alex recently got us some beautiful copper cutlery to match from TKmaxx and I am in love! I fell like having cutlery that isn't silver adds a touch of class and sophistication that is slightly unexpected. I also love the warmth they add to the table.

I am really pleased with how the table looks! I cannot wait to sit around with some of our nearest and dearest to enjoy a delicious meal together. It's so easy to take your usual dining set up and turn it into something beautiful for a special occasion.
